Prof. Dr. Ferhat Öztürk is the Chief Scientific Officer of OMNIHONEY, INC., the company behind MELYVERA. His research focuses on the bioactivity of honey — what makes certain honeys medically valuable and how they support wound care.
He studies American honeys in the laboratory, comparing their antibacterial properties and identifying the characteristics that define medical-grade honey. His work guides how MELYVERA selects and qualifies its honey.
Prof. Dr. Öztürk has presented his research on medical-grade honeys of the United States to scientific audiences and shared it publicly through his TEDx talk, “Sweet Medicine,” and his educational video series on the science of honey.
He is based in San Antonio, Texas.
